VA is committed to reaching out to Veterans and their families, employers and community.
Our mission can only be accomplished when Veterans know the full range of services VA offers.

Welcome Home Events

VA Medical Centers across the nation host at least one "Welcome Home" event each year. These events offer health screenings, benefits information and increase awareness about VA programs for returning service members and their families.

For a list of events, visit the Welcome Home Events page.

Vet Centers

The majority of Vet Center staff are Veterans themselves, many of whom served in OEF/OIF/OND. Vet Centers offer a wide range of services to help service members make a successful transition from military to civilian life. A growing fleet of Mobile Vet Centers are expanding Veterans' access to Vet Center services.

Services include:

  • individual & group counseling
  • marital and family counseling
  • bereavement counseling
  • medical & benefits referrals
  • employment counseling

Rural Health

VA wants to ensure that all Veterans have access to health care and VA services. The Office of Rural Health improves access and quality of care for rural and highly rural Veterans through a combination of outreach efforts, satellite offices and new telehealth technology.
